Rosanne Cash recovers from brain surgery

Johnny Cash's daughter is on the mend

Roseanne Cash is recovering from brain surgery she recently underwent to correct a benign brain condition.

The singer, who is the eldest daughter of country music legend Johnny Cash, was diagnosed with Type 1 Chiari, a structural defect affecting the part of the brain that controls balance.

The surgery was successful and Cash is expected to make a complete recovery. The following message was posted on her website:

"Rosanne is back home recovering comfortably from her surgery, which took place on November 27. She extends thanks and appreciation for all the love, good wishes, prayers and kindness."

Cash is expected to return to the recording studio early next year, and complete a book that is due to be published in 2009.
