Johnny Depp to guest star in Ricky Gervais’ new sitcom

Hollywood star will appear in 'Life's Too Short'

Johnny Depp is to guest star in Ricky Gervais‘ new sitcom, despite the comedian making jibes at him at the Golden Globes.

Gervais‘ new project is called Life’s Too Short and follows the exploits the staff and clients of a talent agency for small people. Harry Potter actor Warwick Davis, who has dwarfism, stars.

Now Gervais has revealed to BBC News that Depp will make a guest appearance in the BBC2 series.

The move may surprise some as Depp was the subject of one of Gervais‘ jibes when he hosted the Golden Globes ceremony earlier this year, poking fun at his film The Tourist.

“It was a big year for 3D movies,” Gervais said at the ceremony. “Toy Story, Despicable Me, Tron… seems like everything was three-dimensional except the characters in The Tourist.”

Life’s Too Short is due to begin filming in May.
