Jonas Brothers cancel Mexican shows due to swine flu

Family trio postpone Sunday’s concerts

Jonas Brothers have cancelled two upcoming shows in Mexico due to the ongoing problem of swine flu in the country.

The band are gearing up for their ‘Burnin’ Up’ world tour to promote their upcoming album ‘Lines, Vines & Trying Times’ which is scheduled to hit shelves on June 14.

"We know the situation is stabilizing and that many fans travel long distances to live the experience of seeing a Jonas Brothers concert," reps for the band said in a statement to Billboard. "That is why we hope that your experience and your enjoyment of the concert will be as pleasant as possible."

The Mexico shows were both due to take place on Sunday (May 17) but have been pushed back to July 31. Tickets for this weekend’s shows will be valid for the July shows.

If they break down the cases in Mexico by city as they have done for the US, I wonder if any Mexican city has more cases than New York: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2009/04/27/us/20090427-flu-update-graphic.html - this all seems very reactionary.

God, I hate the Jonas Brothers. I cant believe I used to LIKE them. God, I was a dumbass back then. How can people like the crap thet produce?? Why are they on NME anyway..? They're always on 'go girl' magazines and they work for Disney. What a bunch of Losers.

I really glad they cancelled to go to Mexico. The swine flu is very serious and I would never want any of them to get sick. I think theu made a good decision to move the dates. The good thing is the tickets are still good for when they do go. I'm sure Mexico will be a little heart broken but will of course understand. Keep pushing Joe, Nick and Kevin you can get thru anything!

It's the battle of the shittest in the Worst Band category as the pictured Jonas Brothers take on Tokio Hotel (eugh), Scouting For Girls (eek), Fall Out Boy (bleurgh) - and Oasis.
