NME'S 100 GREATEST SINGLES OF ALL TIME UNVEILED

And we want you to vote for the 101st....

It is 50 years since the NME published the first ever UK singles chart - on November 14, 1952.

In this week's issue, on sale in London today (November 12) and the rest of the UK tomorrow, we reveal our Top 100 singles that have touched us deepest over the last half century.

And right here we are giving YOU the chance to tell us what you think is missing from the list, by voting for the 101st best single.

Our list is not based on sales. It's simply the singles that have touched us deepest, the 100 singles of the last half-century that have indelibly marked our souls. Voted for by NME staff, our chart brings together innovators, outsiders, superstars, people in torment and people on top of the world. Artists, in other words, with nothing in common but the immortality of their music.
