Stars set for Ian Curtis biopic soundtrack

David Bowie, Roxy Music and Iggy Pop are among the acts confirmed to join New Order on the soundtrack to the new film about Joy Division singer Ian Curtis, ‘Control’.

As already reported on NME.COM, New Order, who formed from the ashes of Joy Division after Curtis committed suicide in 1980, are to perform the score for the movie, which begins filming in July.

But the soundtrack will also feature original Joy Division and Warsaw (as they were initially known) songs.

Other acts set to appear on the soundtrack include Buzzcocks, Lou Reed and the Sex Pistols, reports New Order fansite worldinmotion.net.

The movie will be directed by Anton Corbijn, and features Sam Riley - the frontman of indie band 10,000 Things - in the role of Curtis.
