Charges against Justin Bieber over an alleged fight in a shopping centre in Los Angeles have been dropped.

The incident happened in May of this year and saw photographer Jose Hernandez-Duran claim that the singer kicked him in the abdomen and punched him in the face.

However, prosecutors have said that there is "insufficient evidence for proof beyond a reasonable doubt".

According to BBC Newsbeat, witnesses said they couldn't say for certain if Bieber hit the photographer. There were also no photos of the alleged fight.

The incident is said to have happened after Hernandez-Duran tried to take pictures of Bieber and his then girlfriend Selena Gomez as they walked out of The Commons shopping mall in Calabasas.

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor recently revealed he is keen to record a collaboration with Justin Bieber.

The idea for the unlikely collaboration came off the back of a viral YouTube mash-up which saw one fan put Slipknot's 'Psychosocial' together with Justin Bieber's hit single 'Baby'. The 'Psychosocial Baby' video has racked up over 12m hits since it was uploaded in 2011.

Speaking to Revolver about the mash-up, Taylor said: "I know Justin wasn't responsible for it, but I just thought it was so cool. Everybody thought I'd be pissed about it, but I was blown away... I give him respect. He's a very talented kid and he goes above and beyond for his fans."
