Justin Bieber's life could be the inspiration for a new sitcom, according to reports.

TV Guide says that the pop sensation's formative years could be used as the basis for a new comedy show on US TV network ABC, with reports claiming that the as-yet-untitled show is currently in development.

Although details are currently scarce, it is thought that the show would focus on Bieber's life before he became famous, with particular attention spent on his interactions with his unusual family and his awkward teenage experiences. Bieber, meanwhile, would serve as executive producer on the show while his manager, Scooter Braun, would also assume a similar role.

On less of a laughing matter for the singer, it was reported earlier this week (December 13) that two men were arrested after concocting a plot to castrate and murder him at a concert in the US. Mark Staake and his nephew Tanner Ruane from New Mexico were allegedly hired by jailed fan Dana Martin, who is currently serving two life sentences at a state prison near Las Cruces, for the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl in 2000. Martin was so obsessed with the singer, he even had a tattoo of Bieber inked on his leg.

The pair were hired to kill a total of four people, including two of Bieber's acquaintances in Vermont, before travelling to New York where their plan was to murder the singer and his bodyguard at a gig at Madison Square Garden last month - but, for reasons unexplained, Martin turned the pair over to police.

Bieber released his latest studio album 'Believe' in June of this year. In November of this year, charges filed against the singer for his role in an alleged fight with a photographer were dropped due to a lack of evidence - although Bieber is also on the receiving end of another lawsuit, in which a man alleges that he stole his credit card to pay for penis enlargement surgery.
