Justin Bieber will make a cameo appearance in an episode of The Simpsons to be aired tonight (May 12).

In the episode 'The Fabulous Faker Boy', which airs tonight on FOX in the US, Marge pushes Bart to be more creative and take up piano lessons. At first Bart refuses, until he meets his beautiful piano teacher and is encouraged to enter a talent competition. Bieber appears with his manger Scooter Braun outside the talent show.

Speaking about Bieber's appearance, Simpsons' producer Al Jean told Rolling Stone that show creator Matt Groening requested that the popstar be worked into an episode. He said: "I think he has a family member who was a fan. I think he's a fan, too. So he asked us to find a place to use him. I think [Bieber] had also met Matt and wanted to be on the show."

Earlier this week, Bieber posted the below screenshot of his cameo on his Twitter:

The Simpsons, which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year (2012), has featured the likes of Sigur Ros, the Ramones, The White Stripes, Sonic Youth and the Red Hot Chili Peppers in cartoon form. You can check out NME's gallery of the 15 Classic Band Cameos in The Simpsons for more.
