A video of Justin Bieber giving a urine sample for a drug test after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence has been released by prosecutors in the US.

The clips released yesterday (March 6) show the singer being handed a cup by the police and handing it back to officers. The video is one of nine clips of footage filmed by Miami Beach Police Department which are being sought by media outlets under Florida's public record laws. Watch it below (via Mail Online).

Miami-Dade County Judge William Altfield said that the released footage would respect Bieber's privacy by censoring shots of his genitalia. "Mr Bieber's right to privacy is paramount. He has not lost his right to privacy, and that is what is important here," he said.

As Billboard reports, the drug test is key to Bieber's driving under the influence case because it found evidence of marijuana and the anti-anxiety drug Xanax in his system. Bieber was also charged on January 23 with resisting arrest and driving with an invalid license when he was pulled over in Miami after his yellow Lamborghini was spotted as one of two vehicles racing at in the early hours of the morning. He has pleaded not guilty, and another court hearing is set for next week.

The new footage follows previously released videos of Bieber stumbling through his sobriety test and doing push-ups in his cell following his arrest.

Bieber has pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence, resisting arrest. A trial date is yet to be set. Earlier this month Bieber was charged with assaulting a limo driver, while in January police in California searched Bieber's home after he allegedly threw eggs at his neighbour's house.

Last month (January 31), the pop star's private jet was also detained and searched under the suspicion of having marijuana on board. The plane, which Bieber had chartered to attend the Super Bowl (February 2), was held at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey as police reportedly smelled marijuana.
