Justin Bieber is being investigated by police after being accused of attempted robbery in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, the singer, who has not been arrested, is accused of trying to grab a mobile phone out of a woman's bag after she had taken pictures of him at a mini golf course in LA.

"As of right now, no arrest has been made and detectives are currently interviewing the victim," a police spokesperson said.

This is the latest incident in a turbulent 2014 for the singer. He is due to appear on court on trial for driving under the influence in Miami in January.

In February, he was charged with assaulting a limousine driver in Toronto late last year.

Earlier in the year, police searched his home after he allegedly threw eggs at a neighbour's house.

Three weeks ago, he was detained at Los Angeles International Airport and questioned by customs officers, after returning from Asia.
He was forced to apologise on the trip after posting pictures on Instagram of himself next to a war shrine in Tokyo.

The picture, which has now been removed, showed Bieber next to the Yasukuni war shrine, which is regarded by China and South Korea as a monument celebrating the Japanese leaders executed for war crimes during World War II.
