Lena Dunham has denied criticising a Justin Bieber lyric in a recent tweet.

The Girls creator appeared to be alluding to the pop star's new single 'What Do You Mean?' when she tweeted, "Let's do away with pop songs where a girl nods yes when she means no and vice versa, k?"

In 'What Do You Mean?' Bieber sings, "What do you mean?/When you nod your head yes/But you wanna say no/What do you mean?".

However, Dunham has now taken to Instagram to post a composite photo that compares herself to a young Bieber. She writes in the caption, "How could anyone think I have an issue with Bieber?"
