Justin Timberlake snubbed by Tennessee

His song titles are too risqué for his home state

A resolution to honor Justin Timberlake has been refused by a Tennessee senator in the singer’s home state.

Timberlake’s name was on a list of resolutions introduced by State Senator Ophelia Ford, who intended to honour him for "his highly successful music career and for his meritorious service to the state of Tennessee".

But Raymond Finney had the name removed from the list, saying “It's not something I want my name on”, reports Associated Press.

Reportedly, Republican senators objected to the resolution because of the nature of Timberlake’s album and song titles, including ’FutureSex/LoveSounds’ and ‘SexyBack’.

He was also directly involved with the controversial baring of Janet Jackson’s breast at the 2004 Super Bowl.
