Kaiser Chiefs kick off biggest ever tour in Glasgow Kaiser Chiefs Tickets
Band play new songs at Scotland’s largest indoor gig

Kaiser Chiefs began their largest ever British tour tonight (April 19).
The show at Glasgow’s SECC, was also the biggest ever indoor show to take place in Scotland with the venue’s seating being removed to accommodate some 11,500 fans.
Although the shows were largely seen as the band’s opportunity to send off debut album ‘Employment’, they used the occasion to play three new tracks during their 16 song set.
‘Heart Dies Down’ and ‘Learnt My Lesson Well’ proved to be upbeat, rock songs in the mould of previous Kaiser Chiefs songs like ‘I Predict A Riot’, while ‘Highroyds’ saw the band adopt a new, more mid-paced and reflective air.

Despite enjoying a recent absence from the live arena to work on their second album, frontman Ricky Wilson ensured the band had lost none of their momement.
Orchestrating a series of sing-a-longs and Mexican waves, Wilson provided the evening’s highlight crowd surfing from the mixing desk at the real of the hall to the stage during ‘Caroline, Yes’, before he sarcastically encouraged the crowd to “put your hands in the air like you just don’t care”.
The band now continue their tour around the country, before playing T In The Park and the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds festivals this summer.
