Leeds gets to hear 'Yours Truly, Angry Mob' first

Kaiser Chiefs played a secret gig in their home town Leeds last night (February 9).
Performing in front of just 1,200 people who had brought their tickets that morning, the band warmed-up for their UK tour at Leeds Metropolitan University
The show was announced yesterday morning, and passes were only available from the venue.
To try and keep touts away, and ensure that all the tickets went to fans, anyone wanting to see the show had to queue up outside the box office and pay £15 for a wristband – only two wristbands were allowed per person.
After a support set from old friends Voltage Union Kaiser Chiefs took the stage to chants of "Leeds, Leeds" and launched into their new single ‘Ruby’.
The set saw the Kaiser Chiefs all dressed in black and white and mixing all their previous singles plus first album tracks like ‘Born To Be A Dancer’ with selected track from their forthcoming follow-up 'Yours Truly, Angry Mob'.
As ever frontman Ricky Wilson was the focal point of the set with his trademark leaps, and performing most of ‘I Predict A Riot’ while crowd-surfing.

The band play the Doncaster Dome tonight (February 9) for Radio 1, stay tuned to NME.COM for a full report.
Meanwhile the band are set to head out on a a north American tour in April – and NME is going along for the ride.

The Walkmen will play the whole tour as special guests, while Annuals will open from the Philadelphia to Toronto dates, with The Little Ones playing the remaining shows.
