Kaiser Chiefs have hinted that they are to release a 'stopgap' single.

Drummer Nick Hodgson said they might put out what he thinks is the best song they have written to date, rather than waiting until putting it on their next album.

Hodgson said: "We're going to record (new songs) and then put them out... albums are a bit boring at the moment, but we'll consider that later... I honestly think it's our best song ever, but I'm not going to tell you what it's called."

He told XFM: "I'm really excited about the new ones because everyone who's heard them, basically in our crew, are going on about them and saying they're the best ones we've ever done... which is good."

The band kick off a UK arena tour later this month, calling at:

Exeter Westpoint Arena (November 21)
Bournemouth BIC (22)
Cardiff CIA (24)
Birmingham NIA (26)
Nottingham Arena (28)
Manchester MEN Arena (30, December 1)
Sheffield Hallam FM Arena (3)
Hull Arena (4)
Glasgow SECC (6)
Aberdeen P&J Arena (8)
Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (10)
London Earl’s Court (14-15)
Brighton Centre (16)
