Mark Ronson: 'New Kaiser Chiefs album sounds like Talking Heads'

Super-producer reveals more about the band's forthcoming record

Mark Ronson has revealed further details of the forthcoming third Kaiser Chiefs album, which he is producing.

The super-producer compared the album's sound to that of post-punk legends Talking Heads and Seventies rock/pop titans ELO, and suggested that Kaiser Chiefs fans may find the follow up to 2007's 'Yours Truly, Angry Mob' "bizarre".

"It's a bizarre, eccentric record for such a huge rock band to make – in a good way," he told BBC Newsbeat. "It's got elements of Talking Heads, Tom Tom Club, The Go-Gos, The Move and ELO."

Bollocks does it. It'll be another album of mindless football chant "Oooooohhhhaaahhh" choruses. What an insult to Byrne and co.

Each to their own but their last album was massive and they sold bucket loads of them. They are a very good band and one of the UKs best live acts. Talented guys with intelligent lyrics. You can snipe all you like but fact is they DO sell alot of albums, Why? because they are bloody good!. thanks for listening and goodnight.
