Kaiser Chiefs say they can 'drown out anybody' at V Festival

Ricky Wilson and co also say they're not bothered it's raining

Kaiser Chiefs headlined the 4Music Stage at the Staffordshire site of V Festival tonight (August 16).

Surrounded by a massive crowd frontman, Ricky Wilson was in good spirits and just before launching into his band's song, 'Everyday I Love You Less And Less', said: "It's such a miserable day but I don't give a shit."

The crowd following his lead, despite the rain, cheering and dancing along in response.

Then upon finishing, in a nod to being scheduled to play at the Chelmsford site tomorrow (August 17), Wilson said: "I want to be disappointing Chelmsford [crowds]... I want to tell them you're much louder."

The gathered fans shouted back and Wilson, dressed in his customary white shirt and tie, threw his microphone back and forth while bashing a tambourine.

This whipped up the crowd into a frenzy, tracks including 'Ruby' and 'I Predict A Riot', causing massive sing-alongs with every tune.

Then, during 'Take My Temperature', Wilson egged on the crowd to shout more, saying, "We can go louder, we can go twice as loud and we can drown out anybody."

The crowd responded with a cheer that lasted for the rest of the set before Kaiser Chiefs finished with traditional set closer 'Oh My God'.

Kaiser Chiefs played:

'Everything Is Average Nowadays'
'Everyday I Love You Less And Less'
'Heat Dies Down'
'Never Miss A Beat'
'Ruby'
'Modern Way'
'Thank You Very Much'
'Half The Truth'
'Na Na Na Na Naa'
'Retirement'
'I Predict A Riot'
'You Want History'
'The Angry Mob'
'Take My Temperature'
'Oh My God'

big yt, i have actually seen them, they are just a typical average band, boring, no purpose to their music at all. i'm not sayin oasis are amazing, all i'm saying is what ricky wilson said. new era of music? kaiser chiefs leading the way? the music industry is shit at the minute and i find myself having to listen to the likes of iggy pop and bob dylan for my musical needs, so yeah, kaiser chiefs probably are leading the way in this 'new era' of mundain unimaginative crapx
