Kaiser Chiefs man hospitalised in Brazil

Peanut unable to make Los Angeles show tomorrow (November 11)

Kaiser Chiefs keyboard player Peanut has been hospitalised in Brazil, having come down with a bout of appendicitis in Sao Paulo.

Peanut had his appendix removed on Thursday (November 6), and has been ordered to recuperate in Brazil for a few more days before travelling on a plane.

With commitments to meet in Los Angeles, including a show at the Henry Fonda Theatre and an appearance on the 'Tonight Show With Jay Leno', the remaining band members flew to LA, and will go ahead with the performances as planned.

Posting Kaiserchiefs.co.uk, the band explained: "We've made it to LA, but unfortunately we're a man down. We didn't want to make a drama out of it so we kept this quiet until now. Peanut had to have an operation to remove his appendix on Thursday, so he's been in a hospital in Brazil for a few days. The operation was a success, he's OK, and managed to play with us at Planeta Terra in Brazil on Saturday night, but he's unable to fly to the USA until Wednesday.

"Our concert in LA and TV appearance on 'The Jay Leno Show' will go ahead. We didn't want to let LA down and it's going to be a challenge, but between Roger Lyons (Peanut's tech) and James Hennin (Simon's tech) we'll deputise and make sure the show goes on! It will be our first ever gig missing one of the band."

Meanwhile, Peanut will rejoin the band for their scheduled show at Chicago Park West on Thursday (November 13), as well as Webster Hall in New York on November 15 and Toronto's Mod Club on November 18.

Ha ha ha, the only sad thing about that news is that people still want to see them playing their shite music, I thought most folk had quite rightly became bored with them, they're rubbish.

......Peanut is the guy on the Sgt Peppers 40th Anniversary doc that said " we just use Pro-Tools and remove any errors without re-recording the parts again".....bunch of amatuers, just an awful band.....maybe they'll replace him with a sequencer, no-one will hear him behind Ricky's "whoooooooooooooo""..."i want crisps" shit vocals anyways..

As a Chiefs family member I always resist the temptation to criticise people rubbishing the band, after all it's a free world and everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, but D. Conka laughing at someone being hospitalised 7000 miles from home is beneath contempt.

A N Other, I think you'll find the crappy music that the Kaiser Chuff's put out is beneath contempt, and if you ever get the chance to speak to them, do us all a favour and tell them to pack in music and save us all from the dreadful shite they release, it's awful...
