Kaiser Chiefs announce Green Day US tour support dates

A main stage Lollapalooza slot is also confirmed by the band

Kaiser Chiefs will head out on a US tour supporting Green Day this summer, they have announced.

Kicking off in Madison Square Gardens on July 27, the band will play eight gigs with Green Day, before playing a main stage slot at Chicago's Lollapalooza Festival on August 8.

The band are also confirmed to play this year's Reading And Leeds Festival, which takes place on August 28-30.

Kaiser Chiefs play the following US dates:

New York Madison Square Gardens (with Green Day) (July 27)
Washington DC Verizon Centre (with Green Day) (29)
Nashville Somet Centre (with Green Day) (31)
Atlanta Gwinnet (with Green Day) (August 1)
Tampa St. Pete Times Forum (with Green Day) (3)
Miami American Airlines Arena (with Green Day) (4)
Orlando Amway Arena (with Green Day) (5)
New Orleans New Orleans Arena (with Green Day) (7)
Chicago Lollapalooza Festival (9)

mannequin - why are kaiser chiefs supporting Green Day? Unless you have been hiding away somewhere you should know that Green Day are the biggest band on the planet right now - and with their new album coming out i am afraid you are going to see a lot more of them. Why are Green Day still trying? because they are good and millions want more.

Green Day have been a band for over 20 years now so they have fans in different generations (which an achievement in my opinion) i am 25 and like green day and i know many other green day fans older and younger.And song basher no i am not american, if you recall in 2005 green day played to more people on the same weekend as glastonbury festival they had the biggest album of the year and spawned 4 hit singles. They have sold 70 million records and with 21st century breakdown you can expect this to rise to 80 million. Making them a bigger band than oasis/coldplay/killger/KOL even u2.
