Kaiser Chiefs are set to return to the European festival scene this summer, having been booked for Switzerland's Gurten Festival.

The Leeds band have been on hiatus since 2009 and last released an album, 'Off With Their Heads', in 2008. NME understands that they are preparing a new album for release, possibly in June.

Gurten Festival is their only confirmed live booking of the year so far, with Arctic Monkeys, Underworld, The Streets and Jamie Cullum also on the bill.

The event takes place on July 14-17. See Gurtenfestival.ch for more information.

The new album is set to be released on the band's new record label, Fiction.
