Kaiser Chiefs' Nick Hodgson: 'I'd be a judge on 'X Factor' if the money was right' Kaiser Chiefs Tickets

Drummer says he'd fancy a stint on a TV talent show if he was offered £1 million

Kaiser Chiefs' Nick Hodgson has claimed that he isn't a fan of shows such as X Factor and The Voice - but he'd appear as a judge on them if he was offered enough money.

With the band's frontman Ricky Wilson revealing earlier this year that he had turned down the chance to be a judge on The Voice, the drummer told Bang Showbiz that although he was wary of TV talent shows, he would like the opportunity to "sit there and slag everyone off" for a bumper payday.

"The thing is, they have gotten a bit suspect now," he said. "It's like, 'Hang on a minute – these people haven't even just turned up to auditions!' So you sort of stop believing them."

But when asked if he'd accept an invitation to join one of the shows' judging panels, he replied:

It depends what the money was like. Seriously, if they want to pay me £1 million to sit there and slag everyone off then I'd do it.

A glut of names including Robbie Williams, Gwen Stefani and Alicia Keys are being touted as possible new judges on the next series of The X Factor following the departure of Kelly Rowland. Previously, it was reported that wrinkly-rocker Rod Stewart would be joining the judging panel on a temporary basis.

Kaiser Chiefs, meanwhile, released their compilation album 'Souvenir: The Singles 2004 – 2012' earlier this month. Frontman Ricky Wilson told NME that the band had also begun work on a new studio album, but that they wouldn't begin recording the follow-up to their 2011 effort 'The Future Is Medieval' in earnest until after the summer festivals.
