Midweek chart update: Kaiser Chiefs set for second week at Number One with new album

'The Voice' live final sees chart surge for live performers including Paloma Faith and Aloe Blacc

Kaiser Chiefs are set for a second week at Number One in the Official Albums Chart with 'Education, Education, Education & War'.

Official Chart Company data reveals that the band, led by Ricky Wilson, are currently ahead of nearest rival Paloma Faith. Both acts performed on the live final of The Voice last weekend, a show on which Wilson acts as a coach. The final chart will be revealed on BBC Radio 1 this Sunday (April 13).

There are five new entries on this week’s Official Albums Chart Update with Aloe Blacc's 'Lift Your Spirit' new at Number Four, while former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde's band Black Label Society are on course for their highest charting UK album to date with' Catacombs Of The Black Vatican' new at Number 18.

Elsewhere, Norwegian DJ and producer Todd Terje is new at 21 with debut album 'It's Album Time' while other new entries come from Delain (22) and Sohn (28).

Meanwhile, in the Official Singles Chart, Sigma and The Vamps are competing for the Number One spot with their singles 'Nobody To Love' and 'Last Night' respectively. Leeds based duo Sigma are currently ahead of the boyband at today's midweek stage (April 9) with their song, which samples Kanye West's 'Bound 2'.

Other new entries in this week's Singles Chart at the midweek point come from Iggy Azalea (Five), The Saturdays (11), David Guetta and Showtek (19) and Jakwob (36).
