Two bouncers were shot during Kanye West’s gig in Birmingham last night (February 28).

A woman and a man have been arrested following the incident at the rapper-producer's show at the NEC.

Police said the shootings occurred after people failed to get into the concert without tickets and were being lead away from the venue, BBC News reports.

A police spokesperson explained: "This incident involved individuals who had been ejected from the venue for attempting to try to gain entrance to a pop concert without tickets.

"Firearms were discharged and two stewards were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."

One bouncer is still in hospital being treated for non-life threatening injuries, the other was discharged.

The incident occurred on the last night of West’s five-date UK tour, though the show itself was unaffected.

Speaking after the show West said: "My thoughts and prayers are with the two stewards who were injured last night."

Police are now asking anyone who saw anything unusual at the concert to come forward.
