In the much-hyped album sales face off between Kanye West and 50 Cent, West is pulling ahead.

Early reports suggested that West's new album 'Graduation' would outsell 'Fiddy's 'Curtis', and so far that has proven to be true.

According to Nielsen Soundscan, West sold 437,000 copies yesterday (September 11), the first day his album hit US shelves. 50 Cent's 'Curtis', which came out the same day, has sold only 310,000 copies.

By week's end, West is expected to sell 575,000 to 700,000 copies, while 'Curtis' is expected to move 550,000 units, according to Billboard.

It remains to be seen whether 50 Cent will retire from music as he said he would if 'Curtis' doesn't outsell 'Graduation'.
