Kanye West will perform at this Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards taking place in Los Angeles, it was announced today (September 4).
The singer swore last year he would never return to the show when he failed to pick up a single award after being nominated in five categories, but he has now agreed to close out this year's festivities.
Last year, West reportedly threw a tantrum backstage, saying, "That's two years in a row, man...give a black man a chance."
West joins a long list of big-name performers added to the bill at the last minute, including Christina Aguilera who will perform, and Britney Spears, who will make an appearance.
It was also announced that Paris Hilton, Shia LaBeouf and Ashlee Simpson will present awards at the ceremony.
