Kanye West responds to 50 Cent 'gay' jibes

West calls 50 'iconic' despite being attacked on new song 'Heartless Monster'

Kanye West has said he can't understand why 50 Cent continuously attacks him in song.

West's comments come after a new 50 Cent song, 'Heartless Monster', contained a thinly-veiled homophobic attack on him.

While the title to the new 50 Cent song is a reference to West's last single, 'Heartless', the song's actual lyrics go even further - although 50 Cent stops short of actually naming West in the song.

The lyrics include: "Niggas from the hood ain't supposed to wear no retro shit/I'm-a tell my lil' niggas to start kickin' ya fuckin' ass/See ya out there wit that funny shit on/Look him he's a faggot/Kick him/ Kick his fuckin' ass".

Speaking to Bossip.com, West said he doesn't want to get involved in a beef with 50 Cent, calling his rival a "true iconic rapper".

"I can't say that it doesn't affect me. I was such a fan of 50," he said. "It's almost like if a little kid walks up to you at the airport and is like, 'Man, I love you so much', and then you spit on him.

"I'm not here to beef with anybody. I'm trying to bring people together."

Famously, 50 Cent and Kanye West both released albums on the same day in September 2007. In the build up to the releases, 50 Cent said that if West's album, 'Graduation', sold more copies than his ('Curtis'), he would retire from music.

However, after 'Graduation' comfortably outsold 'Curtis', 50 Cent retracted his comments.

His new album, 'Before I Self Destruct' is scheduled to be released next month.

Whoa... that's some real poetry from 50 there. Does he know that dictating what people are 'supposed' to wear is facism? Who'd have thought 50 Cent and National Socialism had so much in common...

I'd hardly call myself a fan of either 50 Cent or Kanye West, but 50 Cent just seems like some knuckleheaded throwback with his homophobic lyrics. They've both got the whole self-promotion thing in common but at least Kanye West has got style.50 Cent isn't in the hood anymore, he's probably in a hotel, so why does he subject people to his awful lyrics? A poet he's not.

Why HipHop Sucks In 09: these two tossers are so pompous, narcissistic, overblown, touchy and so infatuated by the whiff of their own rectums that they make prog look like skiffle.

"Gents from the street should consider presenting themselves as such, I will ask the chaps to bring this to your attention with violent physical discourse, I spot you looking presposterous, and - hark! - a homosexual! Come on lads, tally ho! Lets relieve him of his teeth!"If you're going to insist on outdated and cliched biggotry Mr Cent please phrase it fairly legibly
