Kanye West has issued a second apology after invading the stage during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards last night (September 13).

The rapper-producer objected after the singer won the Best Female Video award for 'You Belong To Me' ahead of Beyonce's 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)'.

West took to the stage towards the end of the singer's speech, echoing his protest when he lost out to Justice at MTV's European awards in 2006 and also in 2007 when he lost out to Justin Timberlake.

Writing on his official blog, he said: "I feel like Ben Stiller in Meet The Parents when he messed up everything and Robert DeNiro asked him to leave."

He added: "That was Taylor's moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry."
