Kanye West is being sued by a photographer, who claims he was assaulted by the rapper in New York two years ago.

Michael Vasquez is alleging that West and his security team "assaulted, battered, beat and threatened" him at Guastavino’s restaurant.

According to the New York Post, Vasquez is seeking monetary damages for his injuries as well as punitive damages and is claiming that he suffered "physical, mental and emotional illness" as a result of the alleged incident.

The alleged attack took place on May 14, 2008, when West headlined a party to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Casio's G-Shock watch, a set he was reportedly paid $1million (£646,000) to perform.

West is yet to respond to the allegations.
