Kanye West's 'Yeezus' has debuted on the US Billboard 200 at No 1.

It marks the rapper's sixth straight No 1 album in the US, with only his debut 'College Dropout' in 2004 failing to hit the top spot. As well as reaching No 1, 'Yeezus' also scored the third-highest opening week sales of 2013, selling 327,000 copies in a week. It was also No 1 in the UK.

Despite the high sales figures, it's lower than industry predictions, with forecasts suggesting he might sell more than 500,000. So far this year, only Justin Timberlake's 'The 20/20 Experience', which sold 968,000 copies, and Daft Punk's 'Random Access Memories', which shifted 339,000 copies, have had better first-week sales.

Black Sabbath's '13', meanwhile, is down to five places from the No 1 position it occupied last week, a sales drop of some 71 per cent, although having given the reformed metal pioneers their first-ever American No 1, it's unlikely they'll be too upset with the album's performance this week.

After a strong showing last year, British artists aren't faring too well in the States at the moment. After Sabbath, Mumford and Sons are the next placed UK act, with their second album 'Babel' clinging on at No 36. Adele is of course still in the chart, with '21' at No 47. Little Mix and Emeli Sande also feature in the Top 200.
