Kanye West has announced plans for a US tour alongside Kendrick Lamar.

Specific dates and venues for the tour have not yet been revealed but the jaunt will mark Kanye's first solo tour in five years. Tweeting his announcement, the 'Yeezus' rapper wrote: "TOUR" alongside a poster, which you can see below. Though Kanye has toured alongside Jay Z around the 'Watch The Throne' tour and played intermittent solo dates around the world, the dates with Kendrick Lamar will be his first lone venture since 2008.

Meanwhile, Kanye West was reportedly paid £1.9m to perform a private gig for the President of Kazakhstan last weekend (August 31).

West performed at the Hotel Royal Tulip in the Kazakhstan capital Almaty on Saturday where a party to celebrate president Nursultan Nazarbayev's grandson's wedding was taking place. Zazarbeyev is a controversial figure in politics, with allegations of corruption dogging the Kazakh leader. In 2011, Sting pulled out of an arranged concert for the president over claims of human rights violations on oil workers in the country.

Kanye West released 'Yeezus' in June of this year, with the album subsequently debuting at Number One in the Official UK Albums Chart. Earlier this week, it was reported that the rapper had recruited Miley Cyrus to work with him on a remix of his track 'Black Skinhead'.
