Kanye West has enlisted Joy Division and New Order designer Peter Saville to design him a new logo.

The rapper, who is currently in London for a performance on Later... with Jools Holland this evening (September 17), met with Saville earlier this week to discuss what the designer describes as a "very casual" collaboration.

The designer, who famously designed the 'Closer' artwork for Joy Division, revealed that West is looking for something similar to Adolphe Mouron Cassandre's logo for Yves Saint Laurent and said to him: "You’re Cassandre." Speaking at the V&A Museum last night (September 16), Saville told Dezeen: "He wants a YSL. We’re looking at ways of writing ‘Kanye West. What does ‘Kanye’ and ‘Kanye West’ look like written down?" Saville also mentioned the 'Yeezus' rapper's interest in design. "He loves architecture, he loves Le Corbusier," Saville said. "He'd get Le Corbusier to do a building for him if he could."

Meanwhile, West has been charged with battery and attempted grand theft following his scuffle with an LA photographer in July. The rapper is now due in court in LA on October 10 for an arraignment, at which point he will hear the charges made against him and have the opportunity to plead guilty or not guilty. Each of the two charges West faces carries a maximum punishment of six months in prison.

Joining the rapper on tonight's episode of Later... with Jools Holland, the first in a new series of the long-runing new music show, will be Kings Of Leon, Drenge and Lorde.
