An in-depth, four-part interview with Kanye West is set to air on BBC Radio 1 next week, going out at 7pm nightly from Monday to Thursday.

The interview, which was conducted by presenter Zane Lowe, took place when the rapper visited the UK earlier this week. It is only the second interview of West’s 'Yeezus' album cycle – the first of which was carried out by wife Kim Kardashian's mother Kris Jenner.

During his brief visit, Kanye West also made an appearance on Later… With Jools Holland, where he performed 'Bound 2' alongside other performances from Kings Of Leon, Drenge, Sting and newcomer Lorde.

Kanye West also recently announced plans for a US tour, with support to come from Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar. Tweeting his announcement in the form of a poster, the artwork read "Kanye West’s 1st solo tour in five years with Kendrick Lamar". No dates have been confirmed as yet for the American jaunt.

The US star also recently came under fire for playing a private gig for the President of Kazakhstan last month, where he was reportedly paid £1.9 million for one performance. West performed at the Hotel Royal Tulip in the Kazakhstan capital Almaty on Saturday where a party to celebrate president Nursultan Nazarbayev's grandson's wedding was taking place. Zazarbeyev is a controversial figure in politics, with allegations of corruption dogging the Kazakh leader.

Pick up this week's magazine to read NME's Jenny Stevens' opinion on Kanye's controversial decision.
