Kanye West has postponed a series of tour dates in Australia to work on his new album.

As label and management company Roc Nation announce, the rapper will postpone his dates scheduled from May 2-11 until September 5-15.

"Due to unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release, Kanye West regretfully announces the postponement of his upcoming tour dates in Australia," the statement reads.

West previously confirmed that he wants to release the album this summer. "I haven't named my next album, but I have started on it," he said. "I always write down philosophies all the time, so I'll just have some thoughts and every time I think of it I write, and I'm just collecting beats, I'm just constantly working. I'd like to put out more product, I'd like have another album out by next summer."

Last month, West announced a series of European tour dates ahead of his headline appearance at UK festival Wireless, which this year takes place in London and Birmingham.

For the first time this year (2014), Wireless will take place across two sites in both London and Birmingham. It has moved from the Olympic Park in London to Finsbury Park and will also take place in Birmingham's Perry Park between July 4-6. West will play the London leg on July 4 and Birmingham on July 6 on a bill which also includes Pharrell Williams, Tinie Tempah and 2Chainz.
