Producer Evian Christ has confirmed that he's been sending music to Kanye West which could potentially feature on the rapper's follow-up to 2013's 'Yeezus'.

Evian Christ, whose real name is Josh Leary, worked on the 2013 album 'Yeezus' alongside fellow producers including Hudson Mohawke, Arca, Gesaffelstein and Rick Rubin. West is believed to be close to finishing his new record, having recently postponed a tour of Australia to stay in the studio.

Speaking to Self-Titled Magazine, the 24-year-old said of the progress being made on the album: "I've got to get home and write an Otis Redding–style beat for him. He emailed last night. He wants something that sounds a bit like Otis Redding, a bit like Mobb Deep."

However, after Pitchfork ran a story suggesting that this indicated the direction of Kanye's next album, Leary was quick to clarify on Twitter that this was only one of a wide range of potential beats that he and other producers would be submitting:

Elsewhere in the interview, Leary expanded on his working relationship with the rapper, saying: "Kanye is the one dude who’s like, 'This is not experimental enough. This is too poppy. Make something else. The other guys are like, 'We don’t get it.'"

He added: "Kanye is a dream to work with. No-one else gives you that level of creative freedom. When he wants you to work to a blueprint, the blueprint is: 'Don't make a rap beat. Anything but a rap beat.'"
