A transcript of Kanye West's 2013 deposition from when he was charged with attacking a photographer have leaked online, with the rapper comparing the lack of privacy he suffers at the hands of photographers to racism in the 1960s.

West was charged with criminal battery and attempted grand theft after allegedly attacking a paparazzo following a clash with a photographer at LAX airport last year and plead not guilty. He was sentenced to two years probation in March of this year (2014).

In the leaked transcripts, revealed today by TMZ, the rapper appears angry and antagonises the photographer's lawyer.

Speaking to Nate Goldberg, West is quoted as saying: "I'm in the business of trying to make dope shit for the world. You're in the business of representing scums and trying to make as much money as long as there's this lapse in the law." He also says that he is "the smartest fucking celebrity you've ever dealt with. I'm not Britney Spears".

Then come the comments linking an invasion of privacy to the bigotry suffered by minorities in America. "I equate it to discrimination," he said. "I equate it to inequalities. We, as group of minorities here in LA, as celebrities have to ban together to influence guys like this – guys trying to take the picture, guys trying to get the big win, guys trying to get the cheque."

West recently revealed details of his forthcoming album, saying he already has most of the first single finished and hopes to see it come out by the end of the year at the latest.
