Organisers of the last ever night at the London Astoria venue say they want The Who and Kasabian to perform.
The central London venue is due to be demolished after hosting its final party on January 15, to make way for the Crossrail project that will install a new train line linking the capital's east and west.
As NME.COM previously reported, Ibiza superclub Manumission will host the Astoria's final night.
A spokesperson for the event told The Independent that the night would see bands - rather than pop stars who regularly appear on TV - taking to the stage.
As well as gigs, the Astoria is famous for hosting the G-A-Y club night, which has seen the likes of Girls Aloud, Liberty X and S Club 7 perform short sets.
"We don't want them there," the spokesperson said, referring to pop acts. "We are hoping to get The Who and Kasabian to perform. It's more that kind of evening."
Last month, the owners of the Astoria vowed to replace the venue when construction for Crossrail begins.
