Kasabian want to copy Oasis' Heaton Park gigs Kasabian Tickets

Leicester band reveal ambition after supporting Gallaghers

Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno has revealed he wants his band to one day play large hometown gigs in Leicester, after supporting Oasis at the three Manchester Heaton Park shows last week (June 4, 6 and 7).

Pizzorno and co played before the Manchester legends at all three of the shows, with the singer saying the experience had inspired the band to work towards playing similar headline shows of their own.

"It'd be amazing to do it in Leicester one day," he told BBC Newsbeat. "That city would never have seen anything like it."

Oasis had to abandon the Heaton Park stage at their first gig on Thursday due to a faulty generator.

They did, however, return to play a full set, then performed unhindered gigs on Saturday and Sunday.

Is the Princess Charlotte still going? They could do it there.

well these boys certainly would warrant it, kasabian blew the house down at heaton park over the weekend and the new lp is a belter! and unlike oasis kasabian havent lost touch with small venue gigs (which is a shame) like at the newcastle academy tomorrow night!!! bring it on fella's!! :)

@Roger: No! The Charlotte closed down a while ago :( and I think they're thinking on a slightly bigger scale here. Victoria Park or Abbey Park would be perfect - think it's a great idea.

m0nkeytennis...you're forgetting that it would be impossible for Oasis to consider playing a smaller venue tour - tickets would be snapped up by touts and sold for ridiculously inflated prices (i.e. Noise and Confusion in 2003, the warm-up shows for the Don't Believe the Truth tour in 2005). That said, if you do get the chance to see Oasis in a smaller venue, do it! I saw Noel at Koko in 2006 and that was an incredible gig!
