Kasabian reveal how wild party led to surprise collaboration Kasabian Tickets

Tom Meighan explains how he ended up on new Jersey Budd single

Kasabian's Tom Meighan has told NME.COM that he ended up on Jersey Budd's new single thanks to a wild party.

The frontman contributes backing vocals to 'She Came Back', which was released on July 13.

However, the collaboration came about purely by chance.

"It was a pleasure to sing on Jersey's single 'She Came Back', as it's a great tune by one of my mates," explained the Kasabian man. "First heard it at a party at Serge's [Pizzorno, guitar] a year or so ago. Jersey had the guitar out and I started singing backing vocals over it."

The pair were so happy with the version that they left the party and recorded the vocals straight away.

"He loved it and next thing I knew it was 8am and we were off to the studio to record it there and then, bang!" said Meighan. Not bad work for a four-pack of Fosters and 20 Marlboro Lights. Jersey has massive, massive potential to be Britain's answer to Springsteen so check him out."

I went to see this Jersey Budd bloke a while back and thought he was dreadful. Really, really bad. No style, no charisma, no tunes. If he turns out to be Britain's answer to Springtseen I'll eat my cat.

WolfAmoungWolves, you're taking the mick right? No tunes?! What were you listening to, your boyfriend whispering sweet nothings into your ear? The album's one of the best I've heard in a long time, and a lot of people love his music.

Wolf, I'd be readying your cat cos Jersey's gonna take off in a big way sooner rather than later. I'd like to know in what way he lacks charisma, style or tunes? 'Wonderlands' is a fantastic Summer album which has received a ton of praise and he's had some major investment from fellow artists on his Bandstocks deal, so I think when you've got the likes of Kasabian investing in you amongst others, you must possess a decent amount of style, charisma and tunes.

I can only assume that WolfAmoungWolves is a bit of an idiot. For a start, he's talking a load of the brown stuff, and he can't even spell 'Among' correctly. Jersey has been fantastic every time I've seen him.Agree with jimi g though - if that's what Tom calls a wild night, he needs to come out with me!

WolfAmoungWolves, do you actually know what you are talking about? I feel very sorry for your cat as you will be eating it along with your words! The huge talent that is Jersey Budd is going to be huge, best get used to it.....

Fair play to you boys for coming out and supporting your man. There were only about 6 people there when I saw him so I presumed he didn't have any fans! Honestly though, his music's as dull as anything I've heard in a while. AOR to the max (maybe that's how he's like Bruce). And he does that annoying Weller strut on stage that the rat from The Enemy does. They both need to get some moves of their own!

the tunes are there, but i know what Wolf is saying, and i dont care if i get flamed, Jersy Budd has no charisma on stage, he wobbles about a lot and the band dont look like a band! not sure where there going with this one? my friends have said the same..

Music will always divide opinion, but in this case - in MANY eyes - Jersey has buckets of charisma, great uplifting tunes, and an ever-growing fanbase. And to boot - he's a lovely guy too. I've seen him a few times now and the guy delivers every time, and to us lot, he's heading for the big time. And having genuine backing from (lets face it, living legends) artists such as Noel Gallagher and Serge Pizzorno....he can't be far wrong, surely.

Jersey Budd in 'I'm Mates With Kasabian Shocker'.Ha...give me a break. He's dull...his music is dull. Nobody has bought into Jersey Budd outside of a gang of his mates from Leicester (ie you lot on here). He may have used his contacts well to get where he is so far but there's no legs in what he's doing. The English Bruce Springsteen? Nah.

I checked Jersey Fud out there to see what all the fuss is about, I was disappointed to see that he was very average, no more, no less. And as for Serge Pizzorno being a living legend, come on now, lets not be silly Trixy.
