Kasabian have said they never want to repeat the experimental way in which they made their 2009 third album 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum', though they feel that album was something that they needed to do.

Speaking to the Daily Record, guitarist Serge Pizzorno added that he felt that the Leicester band's as yet untitled fourth album is by far the best thing they've ever done.

Pizzorno said: "The last one [album] was the concept of the whole world of 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum' and the tunes were experimental and out there. I've done that now. Every band needs one of those, a 'Sgt. Pepper' or 'Their Satanic Majesties Request'. I've done that now. On the new album, every track is a proper tune."

The guitarist added that the band's new album took around four months to complete, and that he believed it was the best thing they've ever recorded.

He said: "I wrote the album from start to finish in three or four months. It was a really short space of time and it's an incredible album, the best we have ever done by miles."

Kasabian are on the cover of the new issue of NME. It's on UK newsstands today now or available digitally.
