Kasabian have spoken about their headline slot at this summer's Reading And Leeds Festivals and promised a top-drawer set.

The Leicester band will headline the Main Stage on August 25 (Saturday) at Reading Festival and on August 26 (Sunday) at Leeds Festival, topping a bill that includes Florence And The Machine, The Vaccines and Enter Shikari.

Speaking to NME in a video which you can see by scrolling up to the top of the page and clicking, frontman Tom Meighan promised that his band will make "the place come alive" when they take to the stage at the event.

Asked about their plans for their set and what songs they were looking forward to playing, Meighan replied: "All of them. The moment we walk on that stage, the place will come alive. That's where we most comfortable. We love playing live rock 'n' roll. We thrive off it."

The band also said that they were delighted to be ask back and added that it was an "honour" to headline.

Speaking about their set, Meighan said: "We've not been to Reading and Leeds for a long time, we've done the Vs and the other places and it's nice to be asked back. They've been getting the same bands for the last five years, but it's an honour to play there."

Both Meighan and bandmate Serge Pizzorno also said that they were really keen to see The Cure at the festival. Asked whom they most wanted to see on the bill, the duo replied: "The Cure. We've not seeb them, so we'd like to see them." Meighan added that he'd love to meet Cure singer Robert Smith, who he described as "an icon".
