Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno scored a wonder goal during tonight's (May 27) Soccer Aid match in Manchester - scroll down and click below to watch it.

The guitarist gave the Rest Of The World side a first-half lead with a curling first-time chip over the England XI's goalkeeper David Seaman. He went on to receive the Man Of The Match award from ITV1 commentator Graham Taylor, who commented:

Scoring a goal like that at Old Trafford is something that's going to stay with him for the rest of his life

Speaking after the game, Pizzorno said he was "honoured" to be asked to play in the match, and dedicated his goal to bandmate Tom Meighan, who he said had just become a father. "I'm proud of that one," he added of his goal.

Pizzorno's strike eventually proved to be the consolation in a 3-1 defeat for the Rest Of The World, who also fielded the likes of Michael Sheen, Woody Harrelson and Will Ferrell. Meanwhile, match organiser Robbie Williams turned out for the England XI along with Olly Murs and members of JLS.

It's not the first time Pizzorno, who had youth trials for Nottingham Forest FC, has shown his footballing prowess on the telly. He famously scored a scintillating volley in the Road To Wembley Segment of Soccer AM in 2006.

Soccer Aid is an annual charity match which raises money for Unicef, seeing celebrities and former professionals go head to head.

Meanwhile, Kasabian will release a new live DVD and album next month. The package, which is titled 'Live!: Live At The O2', will come out on June 25 and was filmed during the band's show at London's 20,000 capacity O2 Arena on December 15 last year. It will also come with a documentary about the band's arena tour, which is titled 'I Hear Voices'.

The band were recently added to the bill for BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend event and will headline Reading And Leeds Festivals later this summer.

Kasabian are also playing T In The Park, which is taking place from July 6-8 in Balado Park, Kinross. To check the availability of T In The Park 2012 tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
