Kasabian have told NME of their joy while watching England's Euro 2012 victory over Sweden in a crowd full of Swedish fans.

The band had just played at the Hulsfred festival on Lake Huligan when England won 3-2 in their second match of the tournament. And bass player Chris Edwards has opened up about the surreal nature of the experience.

Edwards told NME: "The game was straight after our Hultsfred set. We watched it from the disabled platform overlooking the second stage. Because the festival was in Sweden, instead of putting a band on during the game they put a massive screen up so we watched it with about 20,000 Sweden fans."

But he added that he was unfazed by watching the match in a field full of rival fans. He said: "I knew the boys would do it. They played the best I've seen them play with this team and it can only get better with Rooney coming back. That's if he can get in the team after Welbeck's performances. Needed to win as we wouldn't want to be in the same position as Serg's Italy with two draws."

A proud Edwards concluded: "We can go into the next game now with our heads held high and a lot of confidence."

In advance of the big match, Kasabian released a tour video of the band having a kickabout, in which Serge Pizzorno proves that his wonder goal at the Soccer Aid match in Manchester was no fluke.

Kasabian were recently added to the bill for BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend event and will headline Reading And Leeds Festivals later this summer.

Kasabian are also playing T In The Park, which is taking place from July 6-8 in Balado Park, Kinross. To check the availability of T In The Park 2012 tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
