Kasabian have announced a one-off London show for next month.

The Leicester band, who recently headlined this summer's T In The Park, will play London's O2 Academy Brixton on August 20.

The show will act as a warm-up for the band's headline slot at this summer's Reading And Leeds Festivals, which they play the following weekend on August 25 and August 26.

Kasabian have recently spoken about their plans for their next studio album, promising that it will be "really dark and leftfield" and told NME that although the follow-up to 2011's 'Velociraptor!' is a long way away from being released, mainman Serge Pizzorno has "loads of songs" already written.

Speaking in a video which you can see at the top of the page, singer Tom Meighan said: "Serge is always writing music, whether he's on the road, at home, or in his hotel room. I imagine he's got a load of songs that I've not heard yet. He's played me some. I can't confirm how many he's got. We'll probably record when we have a break and get back in the studio late next year."

When asked how their new album would move on from 'Velociraptor!', he said: "We've never really made a pop album before, not one with bridges and choruses and three-minute songs. With our other albums, we'd do interludes, psychedelic breakdowns, 12-minute endings and with 'Velociraptor!', we wanted to do a pop album. With our next one, we're going to go leftfield, really dark and leftfield."

Tickets go onsale on Friday (July 20) at 9am (GMT). To check the availability of Kasabian tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
