Kasabian have denied rumours that they are set to re-record 'Walking On The Air' for the forthcoming TV remake of The Snowman.

The band were reported to feature on the theme music, with Noel Gallagher and Editors also rumoured to be involved.

The animated film has been remade for Channel 4's Christmas schedule this year and producers are said to be keen to get an impressive list of musicians involved in re-recording the soundtrack.

However, guitarist Serge Pizzorno has stated that Kasabian will not be getting involved in the project. Writing on Twitter earlier today (Nov 6) he put:

'Walking In The Air' was originally recorded in 1982 by Peter Auty, and was a hit for Aled Jones in 1985. The Maccabees also recorded a cover version of the song in 2010.

Kasabian recently confirmed their first festival date of 2013. The band will headline Snowbombing in Austria.
