Kasabian's Tom Meighan says the Brit Awards were 'awful' and 'bad TV' Kasabian Tickets
Frontman is latest artist to criticise this year's bash

Kasabian's frontman Tom Meighan has become the latest musician to criticise this year's Brit Awards after describing the ceremony as "awful" and "bad TV".
The bash, which took place last month (February 20), pulled in its biggest TV audience in over a decade but many of the artists in attendance have been critical of the entertainment on offer, with both Robbie Williams and Jake Bugg describing it as boring.
Now, Meighan has voiced his disproval of the event, telling BBC Newsbeat that the event was "from start to finish, just absolutely tiring. Absolutely awful, bad TV".
Guitarist Serge Pizzorno, meanwhile, said: "Just awful. You've got Simon Cowell sat there like the king of the world, he should be petrified. I remember watching that programme years ago... Someone like that should be scared to even go and show his face because there are some real musicians there, you know?
"He's sat there with his arms around the kids like the king and you're thinking, you shouldn't even dare get out there and show your face, mate," he added. "You know what I mean? This is British music, get away."
Meighan went on to say that "it was awful from start to finish, and everyone knows it, it was terrible", while Pizzorno concluded: "I hope it's the sign for the change and that will mark the end of that period, whatever it was."
Kasabian – who will play a Teenage Cancer Trust concert at London's Royal Albert Hall on March 22 – were yesterday confirmed as headliners at this year's Hard Rock Calling festival, along with Bruce Springsteen.
The festival, which takes place at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London, runs on June 29 and 30 and will see Kasabian headline on the first night. They will be supported by a stellar line-up of acts including Paul Weller, Miles Kane, Kodaline, The Cribs, Klaxons and Tribes. Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band will then perform on Sunday, June 30, with support coming from The Black Crowes and Alabama Shakes.
Tickets for Hard Rock Calling go on sale this Friday (March 8) at 9am with Saturday tickets priced at £45 and Sunday tickets £62.50.
