Penguinsrising, the new band from Oasis drummer Zak Starkey, will be joined by Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan at two gigs next month.

Starkey plays guitar in Penguinsrising alongside drummer Javier Weyler and frontman Sshh Liguz. Meighan will make a guest appearance as DJ after their gigs in London and Manchester in October. The Kasabian frontman will appear at This Feeling at the Queen of Hoxton in London on October 12 before a second show at Manchester's FAC251 on October 19.

The London date will coincide with the release of Penguinrising's debut single 'HateMale'. Details and ticket links to both the London and Manchester dates can be found at the bottom of this page.

Meanwhile, Kasabian and Foo Fighters are early favourites to headline Glastonbury 2014, with Oasis an outside bet according to bookmakers. A spokesperson for bookmakers William Hill announced that both Kasabian, who last played the festival in 2009, and Foo Fighters, last seen at Glastonbury in 1998, have odds of 6/1 to top the bill in 2014.

Penguinrising will play:

London Queen of Hoxton (October 12)
Manchester FAC251 (19)
