Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno has said that headlining Glastonbury taught the band about "inciting chaos" ahead of their upcoming UK tour.

The band recently announced details of a new UK tour for autumn/winter 2014, including five shows at London's O2 Academy Brixton. The Leicester band, who headlined Glastonbury festival on June 29, will play a run of shows at the iconic London venue on December 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6. The final show of the five is a 'late-night' gig.

Speaking to NME about the tour, as part of this week's issue, available digitally, Pizzorno says: I've had so many fucking amazing experiences at Brixton Academy that it just made sense. it's one of the best venues in the entire world. The entire tour's going to be great. We've learned a lot from Glastonbury about inciting the very best type of chaos, man – fucking madness. We want these gigs to be the perfect excuse for people to go absolutely insane."

"The shows are gonna have an intense, tribal, hypnotic vibe. Stay at home and you'll regret it the rest of your life."

Pizzorno also said that he thinks it is unlikely Kasabian could follow in the footsteps of fellow Glastonbury headliners Metallica and headline a festival that specialises in music different to their own.

Asked if Kasabian could perform at Download or Sonisphere, Pizzorno said: "I think it's a lot harder transition the other way. We wouldn't fear it, but we'd need to tweak our set a lot to pull off one of those festivals. We'd have to bring a lorry-load of distortion pedals for a start. I know Metallica did a great job. I know Lars got proper stuck in to the spirit as well and stayed the weekend, which is great of him."

Kasabian will also play arena shows in Leeds, Birmingham, Cardiff, Bournemouth, Brighton, Nottingham, Newcastle and Manchester. The Maccabees will support them on all dates.
