Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno has said that he would love to play a series of live shows with comedian Noel Fielding.

Pizzorno makes the music for Fielding's surreal TV show Luxury Comedy, with the pair going under the name Loose Tapestries.

Speaking to NME this week, in an issue that is available on newsstands from today (July 23) and available digitally now, he says the duo harbour dreams of playing the songs live, "We've promised each other that one day we'll do the most amazing eight or nine shows in forests or something. I can imagine it being like Wu-Tang Clan but with a weird British edge."

In an interview with both Pizzorno and Fielding, the Kasabian songwriter praises the speed at which Fielding works and also reveals that he managed to get Idris Elba to rap about Christmas while making the music for the forthcoming second series of Luxury Comedy.

"What's so amazing about Loose Tapestries is that it can be absolutely anything. On this new record there's an all-out pure disco tune, which I could never get away with usually. It's got the most incredible line in it that goes, 'Cocks in all directions / From flaccid to erections.' I don't think it gets better than that."

Discussing Luther and The Wire actor Elba's involvement, he adds: "We've got Idris Elba rapping on a Christmas song. He was doing the Mandela film at the time and we were laughing, saying, 'Imagine doing that and then coming down and dropping a Christmas rap on a medieval psych-prog record."

Series 2 of Luxury Comedy begins next week (July 31). Guest stars for the second series include Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd), Steve Oram (Sightseers) and Rich Fulcher (The Mighty Boosh).
