Singer records music for movie soundtrack

Kate Bush has recorded a new song for the movie 'The Golden Compass'.

The track ’Lyra’ will be featured over the film’s end credits and on the soundtrack.

The song will be available for download as part of the soundtrack from December 12.

The song is named after Lyra Belacqua, the lead character in ’The Golden Compass’, and was written and produced by Bush in her own studio, and features Oxford’s Magdalen College Choir.

Bush has previously had songs featured in the films ’Castaway’ and ’She's Having a Baby’, reports Yahoo.

The star's last album was 'Ariel' in 2005.
