Kate Nash tried to get Glastonbury in the mood for a birthday party as she played the festival this afternoon (June 26).
Performing on the Other Stage, the singer-songwriter encouraged the crowd to celebrate the event's anniversary.
"Come on then, you're at Glastonbury for fuck's sake," she told the crowd who were baking in the sunshine. "Happy 40th anniversary Glastonbury!"
To do her part to get the party started, Nash played a set mixing her two records to date, telling the crowd "not to be fucking shy, it's not the first time you've been to a festival!"
The audience eventually responded when she played 2007 single 'Foundations', which sparked the sun-drenched audience into life.
Later Nash rallied her crowd ahead of 'Model Behaviour', declaring: "I just want to tell all the girls, the females in the crowd that, statistically, there are less female composers than male in the UK. Yeah, boo! That's crap, so why don't you write your own songs. It's a shit statistic but it's very easily changed."
She then wrapped the set up going straight into 'I Just Love You More' and then playing 'Pumpkin Soup'.
Kate Nash played:
'Paris'
'Doo Wah Doo'
'Mouthwash'
'Kiss That Grrrl'
'Take Me To A Higher Plane'
'Don't You Want To Share The Guilt'
'Later On'
'Foundations'
'Merry Happy'
'Model Behaviour'
'I Just Love You More'
'Pumpkin Soup'
